day 28 – what a milestone

15 May

Food, finally! The buddy day workout was beyond awesome and warranted some serious fuel!

No, no – that’s not mine. :)

But this is: steelcut oatmeal + almond butter + jam + coconut milk + coconut flakes. Mmmmm….

And morning juice:

Raisin spelt bread with sunflower seed butter + apple + brown sugar. Like I said – some serious fuel.

My BlackBerry has been slowly dying over the past few months – slowly losing one function after another. :) So, on the agenda for today was cell phone shopping. Or, to be more exact, walking in the store, and knowing exactly what we are getting (thanks to living with a gadget man).

Vlad and the happy hippo…

Vlad at his happiest – playing with technology!!!

Motorola Milestone, everyone! I finally cheated on BlackBerry – Google won.

Soupasana on my phone!

Whew – all this technology makes me hungry. Tofu teriyaki with brown rice and vegetables!

We also got some vegetable rolls. They had the potential to be great! But for some reason, all they had was greens… :( Really dry. I mean, come on – would it hurt to throw in some tomatoes and avocado?

IMG_1607

Shrimp and chicken soup for Vlad. As for his face being cut off, I’m just gonna go ahead and say that it was a creative photo technique. Yep, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

So yeah – playing with the phone now. :) Did I mention I can blog FROM the phone??? Too good to be true…

day 28 – Soldiers of Fitness buddy day

15 May

Let’s just say that I slept as long as possibly could today! After the wild night of yoga and pizza that ended up being about 4 hours. Despite having made a full oatmeal breakfast, I realized that I simply would not be able to do the things I may be asked to do. So just coffee then, and off I went…

Lynda is wondering what the heck she got herself into… Clapp looks like she knows the answer to that question. :)

This woman always smiles. It’s almost worrisome. :)

Hi, Short! Ra-ra-ra!

IMG_1576

More members and buddies showing up!

IMG_1577

No camera for the next 1.5 hours, because I was too busy trying to survive. :)

Almost done…

IMG_1579 IMG_1580

No, wait. Plank!

IMG_1581

Corporal Francis demonstrating perfect form – keep your body in a straight line, hips up high.

IMG_1582

We are all holding plank, as we are waiting for the rest of the platoon to show up. Carroll looking wistfully in their direction. :)

IMG_1583

Short is counting down. My ears are still ringing…

Looking good, platoon!

HUA!

day 27 – pizza destroying, crazy story telling, birthday celebrating “study” session

15 May

Whew – after two hot yoga classes, it was shower and then off to Roopa’s house for a study session with my lovely yoga teachers. Ok, who are we kidding? The study aspect of the group was dropped in favour of the pizza chomping…

Vegan friendly – no cheese, tomatoes, black olives, green peppers, mushrooms. I also asked for broccoli, but that was nowhere to be found… :(

IMG_1535

And chicken, sundried tomatoes and feta… Melty.

IMG_1536

Our gorgeous hostess – check out that smile!

IMG_1540

Sandra and Kim with the expectant gleam in their eye… Are we eating yet?

IMG_1541

Bright colors on the table are always good!

IMG_1543 IMG_1546

Finally!

IMG_1547 IMG_1550

Another gorgeous smile! And check out Jenn with a strawberry! What else?

IMG_1552

It was Sandra’s birthday on Sunday, so, of course, we celebrated (as it was well, WELL past midnight).

IMG_1557 IMG_1559 IMG_1561

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sandra!!!

IMG_1563

After food, all kinds of stimulating conversations ensued. Stefania took the cake for the stories. It was Days of Our Lives meets Sopranos…

IMG_1565

The best chairs hang from the ceiling… Like so.

IMG_1566

Despite having talked three of these yogis into joining me for Soldiers of Fitness buddy day tomorrow, they all opted out. :( On the other hand, we did stay up until 3am. :) Just me then…
